Martyn James Bull
Writer/Director

I am an experienced video director and creative producer with over 10 years of experience sharing complex ideas with a wide range of audiences.

I am well-regarded for being able to create heartfelt work that brings out the best in people. I work to bring out the real and authentic in every subject so that it will resonate with a wide audience.

I direct single and multi-camera documentary and narrative productions on location and in the studio. I also direct animation.

Organisations I’ve worked with include Johnson & Johnson, Air Products, Philips, Topcon, The College of Optometrists, The Institute of Physics, Patient Information Forum, NHS, Paul Scherrer Institute, Institute Laue Langevin, and RIKEN.

How I like to work

I love to work collaboratively with clients and production teams to connect people together to create high quality productions for all audiences.

As a director, I work closely with you, the client, throughout the creative process, and oversee the work of all departments.

I will take overall responsibility for the creative realisation of the film, including the images, sound, music and performance.

I will develop initial concepts and treatments, write and refine scripts through development to final locked version, identify and confirm locations, develop visual concepts with production designers and directors of photography, and select cast through casting calls. I then direct rehearsals and the final performance, and work with editors to deliver the final video in the required formats

Please contact me to find out how I can help you with your projects.
